Taraji P. Henson, who plays National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA’s) Katherine Johnson in the film Hidden Figures, a story of early space exploration, participated in a panel discussion and shared her frustration that she didn’t grow up knowing these stories of early space exploration like depicted in Hidden Figures. She felt not knowing these stories limited her own career choices and those of many others who didn’t realize that Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers were a career option.
